5th Graders Run & Jump into Action at Lacey

OES 5th Grade Track Meet 2016

Tuesday morning didn’t appear promising for an Oskaloosa Elementary School 5th Grade Track Meet, but around 12 p.m. the sun started to peek out from behind the clouds and provided excellent weather for the track and field events. Jennifer Peterson, OES P.E. teacher, coordinated the event to take place at the stadium located at the Lacey Recreation Complex. Bleachers were filled with K-5th graders as well as parents, siblings and grandparents to cheer on the competitors. Many water bottles were on hand to keep the youth hydrated and the lingering smell of sunscreen was a great reminder that summer fun is just around the corner!
