A very rainy day at the Lacey Recreation Complex for MCRF’s first time “Swing Into Spring” tournament! MCRF hosted a fund raiser tournament at the complex on Saturday and Sunday April 30-May 1. For Saturday, the games were canceled before they began but some games were made up on Sunday. The tournament ran for only part of the day with U8 finishing all three of their games, U12 getting one to two of three scheduled games in, and U10’s, who were scheduled for afternoon games, barely getting started, leaving in the first inning of their first games. Sweet Heat Team who organized the tournament for MCRF with Tina Schafner the tournament lead, were unable to complete any of their games. Some players and coaches were disappointed but also ready to get out of the rain! Lacey Complex lasted longer than others in the area as conceled games were the theme of the day. “It was still fun, even in the rain!” Stated one U12 player from Cedar Rapids. One coach informed MCRF on the way out, “I will see you in two weeks when my son’s basbeball team plays here!” For pictures of activities and evanets at the LAcey Complex Like us on Facebook at mcrf.laceyrecreation .
