Wyota Joyce Scott, age 87, of Knoxville and formerly of Eddyville, Iowa, died Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center, in Des Moines, Iowa. Wyota was born May 4, 1928, to Calvin Monroe and Edith Lavern (Poe) Swim in Truax, Iowa.

Wyatt attended Truax Country School and Eddyville High School.

On September 14, 1945, at the First Christian Church in Oskaloosa, Iowa, Wyota and Robert Harry Scott were united in marriage. They were blessed with four children: Linda, Dennis, Rodney, and Lori, and 70 years of marriage.

Wyota was a lifelong homemaker and house wife. She worked for a short time in a dental office and later as a waitress. Wyota was a 54 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and past Worthy Matron. She held many Order of the Eastern Star offices until 2007. She was an active member of the First Christian Church in Eddyville, where she cared for the children in the nursery and taught Sunday school for many years.

Wyota is survived by her husband, Robert of Knoxville; her children: Linda (& Gene) Rouze of Eddyville, Dennis (& Carla) Scott of rural Eddyville, Rodney (& Theresa) Scott of Naples, Florida, and Lori (& Mark) Anderson of Knoxville; 9 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Joan Silvers; and her brother at birth.
