Oskaloosa–The William Penn women’s golf team won its home tourney, but the national raters were not too receptive to the victory as the NAIA released its fourth top-25 poll Friday.

The Statesmen slid down one spot to #21 in the nation with 207 points. They continue to be the only representatives from the Heart of America Athletic Conference as well as the state of Iowa in the entire poll.

For the first time in school history, William Woods (Mo.) is at the top of the rating, jumping from third to first with 520 points and 13 first-place votes. Keiser (Fla.) (six first-place votes), Dalton State (Ga.), SCAD Savannah (Ga.), and Oklahoma City round out the top five.

WPU will travel to Nebraska City, Neb. Monday and Tuesday to compete in the Peru State Invitational. Play will be contested at Table Creek Golf Course.
