Jon Arthur Haycraft, 62, of Oskaloosa died Sunday, March 27, 2016, at his home in Oskaloosa. He was born January 11, 1954, in Madelia, Minnesota, the first child of Charles Arthur and Lois Marlene Mosel Haycraft.

Jon graduated from Callaway High School in Jackson, Mississippi, with the class of 1971.

Following high school, Jon served in the United States Air Force. Following his discharge, Jon started his career in retail sales. He worked in many capacities for various companies throughout the United States.

In 2014, Jon met Karen Denburger. The two of them enjoyed spending time together traveling and wintering in Florida. In 2015, he moved to Oskaloosa to be closer to Karen. While living in Oskaloosa he worked at Musco for a short time.

Jon was a member of the Oskaloosa First Christian Church, where he enjoyed playing Dominos with the guys. He also enjoyed golfing and watching sports. As a young man he was a Golden Gloves Boxer.

Jon was a hard worker and dedicated to his profession. He was upbeat, outgoing, and could have a conversation with anyone.

His family includes his daughter, Brittni Haycraft of Houston, Texas; his significant other, Karen Denburger of Oskaloosa; his mother, Lois Beckham of Tylertown, Mississippi; two brothers: Jeffrey (& Nancy) Haycraft of Arlington, Virginia and James (& Mary Lynn) Haycraft of Moline, Illinois; a sister, Lorna Haycraft (& Donald) of Charlottesville, Virginia; a niece, Katie Haycraft; and two nephews, Josh and James Ryan Haycraft.

Jon was preceded in death by his father; and his grandparents.

As was Jon’s wish, his body has been cremated and private family services will be held. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
