Girl Scouts To Host Dessert Auction on March 19

With Girl Scout cookie sales in full swing in Oskaloosa, local residents have another opportunity to indulge their sweet tooth and help send girls to camp. Oskaloosa Girl Scouts will sponsor a dessert auction on March 19 to raise funds to send

Oskaloosa girls to camp. The auction will be held on Saturday, March 19 in Center Court of Penn Central Mall. The auction begins at 12:30 and will continue until all desserts have been sold.

Individuals and businesses wishing to donate desserts to Girl Scouts for the event should bring those items to the mall’s center court beginning at 11 a.m. the day of the event.

In conjunction with the auction, Oskaloosa Girl Scouts can participate in a cake decorating contest to test their baking/decorating skills in a variety of categories most creative, favorite movie, animals, best use of Girl Scout cookies and best use of a Girl Scout theme. All cakes made by girls will also be auctioned to the public.

Other activities for families to enjoy during the event include face painting, hair coloring and Barnyard Billy. Tax forms will be available for those spending more than $25.00 at the event.

Pizza and other baked goods will also be sold to those attending. Last year’s event raised over $3,500 that was given to girls to offset camp costs.

Anyone with questions about the event or wanting to donate a dessert should contact Oskaloosa Girl Scouts at OskaloosaGirlScouts@gmail.com or call and leave a message at 6412953519.
