Caroline Mae Witt, 68, of Tracy died Saturday, March 12, 2016, at the Pella Hospice Comfort House in Pella. She was born December 10, 1947, at What Cheer, Iowa, the daughter of Clayton and Margaret Wolfe Ladely.

Caroline graduated from What Cheer High School with the class of 1965.

Early on Caroline worked as a nurse’s aide in nursing homes. In 1970, she was united in marriage to Albert Witt, in Missouri. Caroline later worked at Pella Plastics and 3M. She retired from 3M in 2002.

Caroline enjoyed working in her yard. She had a lifelong love for all animals, especially loving her parrots.

Her family includes her husband of over 45 years, Albert Witt of Tracy; six children: Shari (& Frank) Riner of Carthage, Missouri, Kevin (& Paula) Hershey of Carthage, Missouri, Bryon (& Connie) Hershey of Oskaloosa, Carla Ladely of Ottumwa, Teresa Bunnell of Oskaloosa, and Tony (& Melissa) Witt of Oskaloosa; 22 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; two brothers: Harold (& Alice) Ladely of Sigourney and Marvin Ladely of Hot Springs, Arkansas; many nieces and nephews including: Sheila (& Bill) Perry, Kim Pipes, and Darla (& James) McConnell; and close friends, Bill Meyers and Pat Sparks.

Caroline was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, C.J. Cortez; two brothers: Clifford and Leroy Ladely; and three sisters: Marie Robinson, Florence Clubb, and Shirley Bouliver.

As was Caroline’s wish her body has been cremated.
Visitation will begin Tuesday morning after 10 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 5-7 Tuesday evening to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to Pella Hospice Comfort House.
