Oskaloosa–The Statesmen competitive dance team will vie for a national championship next weekend after securing a bid to the NAIA Invitational.

The program’s score of 97.97 points at the Midwest Regional on February 20 was good for second. The remaining regional qualifiers wrapped up over the weekend, and after all of the scores were tabulated, the Statesmen earned one of the eight at-large bids to compete for the crown.

It marks the first time that William Penn has qualified for the NAIA Invitational. The Statesmen will now travel to Davenport on March 11-12 and compete in the 12-team event against the following programs:

Aquinas (Mich.)–At-Large Bid
Baker (Kan.)–At-Large Bid
Briar Cliff–At-Large Bid
Grand View–At-Large Bid
Hastings (Neb.)–At-Large Bid
Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.)–Midwest Qualifier Champion
Midland (Neb.)–North Qualifier Champion
Morningside–At-Large Bid
Oklahoma City–South Qualifier Champion
Saint Ambrose–East Qualifier Champion
Stephen’s (Mo.)–At-Large Bid
