Community-Wide Worship Service Planned

A community-wide worship service will be held at the William Penn University Activity Center (PAC) on Saturday, Feb. 27, at 6:45 p.m. The service will be on the athletic turf so it is being called “Pack the Pac!” All ages are urged to attend! There will be no admission fee. The event is being sponsored by three campus organizations: Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), InterVarsity and Team Christ.

The speaker will be R. J. Sumrall, staff person for FCA in the inner city of Des Moines since September 2014. R.J. was the most valuable offensive player on the 2007 Iowa State University football team. He is third in all-time receiving record at ISU and was selected as an All-Big 12 Student Athlete in 2007. He was a Drake Relays champion in the hurdles. He holds the record for the most points scored in track at his high school, Winter Park (Florida). Mr. Sumrall, 30 years of age, is married to Steffanie and they have a four year old son.

Besides Mr. Sumrall there will be music by the William Penn InterVarsity worship band and songs by Morsay Lambert. Park on the west side of the campus near the Activity Center. These games start at 2 p.m. (women) and 4 p.m. (men). Come on out and enjoy great basketball and a fun evening of united worship!
