Nine students from Oskaloosa Middle School recently participated in The Southeast Iowa Choral Director’s Association Youth Honor Choir in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. The Honor Choir was held on Friday, February 5th, 2016 in the Chapel Auditorium of the Iowa Wesleyan College campus. Participants were selected based on ability and enthusiasm for singing. Students prepared 5 songs (Exsultate Jubilate, Scarborough Fair, If You’re Out There, E Ala E, and Walk in Jersusalem) ahead of time and then spent the day fine tuning in a 170 person choir. The choir comprised of singers from 18 Southeast Iowa schools including Burlington, Washington, Highland, and Sigourney. The director for the Festival Choir was Brandon Fraseur, Director of Choral Activities at Bettendorf High School. The OMS choir is under the direction of Kyle Braundmeier.
