Missoula Children’s Theatre presents Aladdin

OSKALOOSA, IA — Calling all kids! Auditions for Missoula Children’s Theatre’s production of Aladdin will be on Monday, February 15th at 4:00 p.m. at the George Daily Auditorium. Based on the famous Arabian Tales of Ali Baba, Scheherazade, and even Sinbad the Sailor, Aladdin journeys to find a magic lamp in a Cave of (not-so-great) Wonders. However, even with the lamp in hand, Aladdin will have to learn that it takes more than a wish to make a good impression. Full of memorable characters, from lost Penguins to talking Palm Trees, this adventure is worthy of 1001 laughs.

The directors come to town with lights, sets, props, makeup – everything needed for a show except the actors! Approximately 60 students in kindergarten through 12th grade are needed to fill all the roles. Students wishing to audition should plan to stay the entire two-hour audition session. Audition forms are available in schools, at the George Daily Auditorium, online at www.georgedaily.org, or in the lobby before the audition. This is a group audition so no preparation is required. Students should come with a smile and be ready to have fun!

In just a week, students will learn their lines and choreography for two performances on Saturday, February 20th. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the end of the audition. Rehearsals will be conducted Tuesday, February 16th through Friday, February 19th at the George Daily. Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week and if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role.

Performances of Rapunzel are Saturday, February 20th at 3 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. For tickets or more information, contact the George Daily Auditorium box office at (641) 672-0799 or online at www.georgedaily.org.

This opportunity is made possible through sponsorships from MidWestOne Bank and the Kiwanis Club of Oskaloosa.
