On July 23, 1960, she was united in marriage to Willis Kirk, Sr. at Beacon, Iowa. Following their marriage, Patricia stayed home to care for their home and family. She worked for a short time at Dean’s Cigar Store in Oskaloosa. After their children were grown, Patricia went to work in housekeeping at the Oskaloosa Motel. Patricia was a member of Good News Chapel where she was a Sunday School and Bible School instructor, a Calvinette leader, and was always willing to visit those who were unable to come to church. She later moved her membership to the Open Bible Church in Oskaloosa and last to the Assembly of God Church in New Sharon. Patricia had a lifelong love and faith in Jesus Christ, she was always eager to share the gospel with those around her.

Patricia enjoyed doing crafts, especially plastic canvas, watching movies on the Hallmark Channel, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.

In 2008, Patricia was diagnosed with breast cancer: her faith remained very strong throughout her courageous battle. With a strong faith, hours of prayer, and an unfailing positive attitude, she beat the cancer. She will be remembered for her infectious smile, fantastic sense of humor, and kind spirit.
