May 15, 2011 – January 15, 2016
Montezuma, Iowa | Age 4

Kelly Lynn Yeager, age 4, of Montezuma died Friday, January 15, 2016 at Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

Kelly, age 4, was born May 15, 2011, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the daughter of Jenna Yeager of Montezuma and Robert Yeager of Oskaloosa.

Not long after Kelly was born, she somehow figured out how to use her big brown eyes and red curly hair to her advantage. A guilty smile, followed by her ornery little laugh, got her out of most shenanigans she found herself in. This little red-headed rodeo was absolutely horrible at holding a grudge. This little monkey loved freely and was brave enough to forgive often. However, one thing she was not interested in was allowing anyone else to sit on her big brother’s lap or cuddle with her cousin Dustin.

Somewhere along the way Kelly earned the nickname “Cookie Monster”. If she saw a cookie anywhere close, she turned into a monster until she finished eating it. She adored her pet rat named Boots and her pink panther blanket named Icky. Kelly also loved to go camping and being outdoors where she could play with her siblings.

‘Miss Pebbly Poo’ is survived by her mother, Jenna Wandling of Montezuma and father, Robert Yeager of Oskaloosa; her grandparents: Devee Wandling of Montezuma, Dave VerDeck of Belle Plaine and Deb & Robert Yeager of Oskaloosa; a brother, Jase Durant; two sisters, Angelic and Gabby Wandling; five Aunts: Stephanie (& Jeff) Thomas of Montezuma, Luella (& Tim) Westbrook of Newton, Brandy (& Shane) Kenney of Newton, June (& Benji) Williams of What Cheer, and Susan (& Clarence) Kruse. Kelly will now also be watching over her thirteen cousins.

Kelly was preceded in death by her grandfather, James Wandling; and two great uncles: Freddy Wandling and Butch Noe.

Funeral services will begin at 6:30 pm on Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma.
