Marjorie Mitrisin, 81, of Oskaloosa, died Thursday, January 7, 2015, at the Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa. She was born December 1, 1934 at Wright, the daughter of Clarence and Elsie Belle Witt Tucker.

Marge was united in marriage to Edward Mitrisin on May 31, 1952 in St. Mary’s Church in Oskaloosa. Marge worked at the old Mahaska Manor Nursing Home in Oskaloosa with Jo Broerman for over 28 1/2 years. She later worked at the Mahaska County Hospital in Oskaloosa for 14 years, retiring at age 74.

Marge was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed going to lunch with her sisters, and attending the many birthday parties and ball games when her health permitted. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Her family includes her husband, Ed Mitrisin of Oskaloosa; a son and his wife, Mark and Julie Mitrisin of Oskaloosa; a son-in-law, Larry Van Rossum of Oskaloosa; four grandchildren: Jodi (& Jason) Haines, Amanda (& Brian) Lemke, Sara (& Jim) Boender, and Ryan Van Rossum; seven great grandchildren: Andrew, Maddie, Aubrey, Izzy, Kayne, Xavier, and Kinnick. Also surviving is a brother, Tom (& Fern) Tucker of Milan, Illinois; two sisters and their husbands: Mary (& Bob) Curry of Oskaloosa, and Hazel (& Don) Hite of New Sharon; and two sisters-in-law: Marjorie Tucker of University Park, and Arlene (& Dick) Weideman of Lake Keomah.

Besides her parents; Marge was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Van Rossum; two sisters: Maxine Fisher, and Darlene Comstock; and five brothers: Eugene, Bill, Charles, Jack, and Dale Tucker.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 9, 2016, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oskaloosa with the Rev. John Spiegel officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery at Oskaloosa.
Visitation will be at the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa on Friday after 1 p.m., and the family will be at the funeral chapel on Friday from 5 – 7 p.m. to greet friends and relatives.
A Christian Vigil Service will be held on Friday at 7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Church or Mahaska Hospice.
