The Mahaska County Conservation Board is hosting a Winter Day Camp – an afternoon of wintery fun for kids. If your kids are needing something to do between the holidays, then bring them out for this event! This camp will be held at the Russell Wildlife Area on Wednesday, December 30th from 1:00-4:00 pm. The activities will include going on a hike, tracking for animals, watching the movie “The Great Bear” and eating a popcorn snack. Adults are welcome to stay for the fun! Kids ages 5 and younger must have an adult with them. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Due to limited space in the conservation center, please sign up ahead of time by calling the Mahaska County Conservation Board at (641)673-9327.

The Russell Wildlife Area is located at 2254 – 200th Street, New Sharon, which is four miles north of Oskaloosa on Hwy. 63 and one mile east on 200th Street. If you have questions, please call the Mahaska County Conservation Board.
