Seven Still Ranked for WPU
Oskaloosa–Led by nationally-ranked Scottie Bonds (Jr., Chicago, Ill., Physical Education), seven William Penn wrestlers continue to be ranked regionally as the NAIA’s second top-20 poll was released Wednesday.
The Statesmen dropped a few spots to #27 (12 points) with Bonds remaining fifth at 149 pounds.
As per the norm, Grand View is #1 with 136 points, while Indiana Tech (107.5), Missouri Valley (105), Montana State-Northern (82), and Oklahoma City (70.5) round out the top five.
In the Central Qualifying Group, William Penn is up to fourth with 95 points, while Grand View (206) is at the top.
Bonds is second regionally at 149 pounds, while 184-pounder Tyler Foubert (Fr., Gibson, Iowa, Business Management) is third.
The trio of 125-pounder John Altieri (Fr., Warwick, R.I., Sociology), 141-pounder Bryan Pittman (Sr., Flossmoor, Ill., Information Technology), and heavyweight Matthew Cuthbert (Fr., Yucaipa, Calif., Sociology) all sit in fourth place. Logan Loftus (So., Marengo, Iowa, Industrial Technology) is fifth at 157 pounds and Tommy Rios (Fr., Tucson, Ariz., Exercise Science) is sixth at 125 pounds.
