William Penn University will be hosting Dave Price on Tuesday, December 1 as its second guest in a prospective series of speakers, a lecture series called “Ideas and Inspiration in Iowa— Leaders Speak at William Penn University”. Dave Price will present at the Musco Technology Center on the Oskaloosa campus at 6:00 p.m.

Dave Price is the Political Director for WHO-TV in Des Moines, Iowa, host of the Sunday morning show “The Insiders” and anchors Channel 13 News on weekend evenings. He graduated from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and earned his Master’s Degree at the prestigious University of Missouri-Columbia. In Columbia, he served as morning news anchor and assignments manager at KOMU-TV.

Dave then moved to Montgomery, Alabama, to help launch WNCF-TV, where he served as weekend anchor and political reporter. In 2001, Dave began his career at WHO-TV, where he specializes in coverage of the Iowa Caucuses and state government.

Dave has earned a national Emmy, Edward R. Murrow Award and dozens of state and regional awards for his reporting and anchor. He also authored his first book, “Caucus Chaos,” an insider’s account of the always unpredictable way Iowans help pick the next president.

“He will give an inside look into a complicated process and help people understand why and how Iowans shape the future of our country,” explained Tami Wiencek, Coordinator for the Leaders Speak Series and Instructor of Digital Communication at William Penn University. “He will put the caucuses in context and explain why the last cycle was controversial. This event is for anyone who wants to plug into the unique civic opportunity all Iowans have as first-in-the-nation caucus goers.”

“Ideas and Inspiration in Iowa—Leaders Speak at William Penn University” provides an opportunity for guest speakers to meet and engage with students and Oskaloosa community members.

This event is free and open to the community.
