2 GRINNELL FOOTBALL PLAYERS COLLECT ALL-MIDWEST CONFERENCE SOUTH DIVISION 1ST-TEAM HONORS
GRINNELL, Iowa – Two Grinnell College players have been named to the 2015 All-Midwest Conference South Division Football First Team.
Graham Fisher ’16 was named All-Conference for the third time at a punter spot, while Barrett Morrissette ’16 was collected honors as a linebacker.
Fisher, from Palo Alto, Calif. (Gunn), was a first-teamer last season and honorable mention in 2012. He is one of the nation’s top punters and led the conference with a 41.7-yard per kick average. He also booted five field goals and ranked eighth in the conference in scoring.
Morrissette, from Chicago, Ill. (Whitney M. Young Magnet), sparked the Pioneers’ defense in 2015. He ranked third in the MWC in tackles with 93, including 36 solos, and was third in the league in fumble recoveries. He also had 6.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks.
The MWC Players of the Year are St. Norbert College’s Jacob Bunk (offensive line) and Frank Laterza (defensive skill), Macalester College’s Zach Hauser (defensive line) and Carroll University’s Kevin Jennings (offensive skill). The MWC South Coach of the Year was Chad Braun of Monmouth College.
