The 7th grade girls’ volleyball team was in action Tuesday night against Norwalk. The A team got back to its winning ways with a sweep of the Warriors to push their record to 4-1 on the year. The scores were 25-12, 25-12, and 25-13. The team was led by Sophia Dykstra with 6 aces, followed by Hayle Hacker with 5, Abby Braundmeier with 4, and Kaylee Johnson and Makenna Schaffner with one apiece.

We were very pleased with how the girls responded after Pella and put together three good games of volleyball. We look to continue that as we look to go 2-0 against Knoxville on Thursday.

The B team played hard, but feel to Norwalk with scores of 7-25, 7-25, and 15-25 to drop their record to 2-3. The team was led by Jazmin Chavez with 3 aces and Samara Shilling and Kiara Bjornson with one apiece.

The girls have come a long way and continue to improve and we look to avenge a loss earlier this year against Knoxville on Thursday.

The C team earned their first victory of the season with scores of 25-15, 25-18, and 15-25. The team was led by Rachel Rice with 12 aces, followed by Lauren Milledge with 4, Kaity Dalbey with 3 and Kerrie Anderson and Ryan Meeth with one apiece.

The girls have really been practicing serving and that was the difference in this game. They did an excellent job of getting their serves over and earned the victory.

The D team played tough, but fell with scores of 21-25, 9-25, and 22-25. The team was led by Sariyah Clayton with 4 aces, followed by Jaysa Goodwin with 3, Emme Josko and Makayla Covey with 2, and Raven Six and Hailey Gladson with one apiece.

The girls continue to improve each day and although we didn’t get the win, it is exciting to see girls who never played for getting serves over and putting in great effort.

The 7th grade teams will be back in action on Thursday against Knoxville at 4:30 at the Knoxville Middle School gym.
