Margaret Elaine Silvers, 76, of Montezuma and formerly of Oskaloosa passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at Montezuma Nursing and Rehab. Center. Margaret, daughter of William M. and Ethel Antoinette (Gray) Hols, was born May 13, 1939, in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Margaret was a 1957 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. She earned her L.P.N. degree from Indian Hills Community College, and in 1977 she earned her R.N. Degree from Southeastern Community College in Burlington, Iowa. She worked for two years at Comair Nursing Home and then was hired at Mahaska Hospital. She worked there 18 years, retiring in 1996.
Margaret married Duane Allgood in 1958, they later divorced. She married Charles Silvers in 1969 and to that union Charmin was born. They later divorced.
Margaret attended the Life House Community Church. She loved her role as grandmother.
Her family includes her two sons and their wives: Loren (& Kim) Hols of Oskaloosa and Larry (& Janene) Hols of Kansas City, Mo; and her daughter and her husband, Charmin (& Don) Allen of Arizona; nine grandchildren: Tristram Hols, Bailey Davis, Cody, Blake, Kaeli, and Andrew Hols, and Devin, Jordan and Jayden Silvers; and a brother, Floyd Hols of Tracy, Iowa.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Simmons; and two brothers, Francis and Forrest Hols.
Funeral services for Margaret will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, September 28, at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Howe of the Life House Community Church officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., Sunday, at the Funeral Chapel; the family will greet visitors from 1-3 p.m., Sunday afternoon.
