Dorothy Ann Brunt, 98, of Oskaloosa passed away, Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at the Northern Mahaska Nursing and Rehab. Center in Oskaloosa. Dorothy Ann Brunt was born, October 3, 1916, to William and Daisy Maude (Howar) Bequeaith, at Givin, Iowa.

Dorothy attended Givin School. December 28, 1933, Dorothy married Louis Delano Brunt in Milan, Missouri. In 1935, they moved to Long Beach, California where they lived until 1971.

After returning to Oskaloosa they purchased the Tastee Treat Ice Cream Shop, which Dorothy operated for four years. During this time Dorothy also worked as a vender at fairs selling elephant ears. Later, Dorothy went to work in the cafeteria kitchen at William Penn College. She worked there for 13 years.

Dorothy’s family includes her children: Craig Brunt of Orange, California and Jill (& Dan) Krusemark of Oskaloosa; her daughter-in-law, Esther Brunt of Oskaloosa; two grandchildren: Sherry Brunt of Oskaloosa and Christopher Brunt of North Dakota; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee on November 11, 1999; her son, Lee Brunt; a daughter-in-law, Norrie Brunt; and three grandchildren: Kitrina Morrison, Paul Brunt, and Stacy Linsey Brunt.

A visitation for Dorothy will begin at noon, Monday, September 28, 2015, at Garland-van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel; the family will greet visitors from 6-7 p.m.
Cremation will be accorded following the visitation.
A private family burial will be held at Forest Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
