Non-Profit leaders and community leaders joined Tim Brand and the Mango Tree as they celebrated giving back $5000 to the Oskaloosa community.

Oskaloosa, Iowa – In its short time in Oskaloosa, the Mango Tree has served up over 30,000 cups of yogurt since opening its doors for business on June 9th of this year.

Tim Brand, Executive Leader of Many Hands for Haiti, was on hand this week to distribute $1000.00 checks to five area charities, of whom the frozen yogurt shop helps in addition to work in Haiti. Brand said that, “We want this to be a community location that blesses not only the people of Haiti”, but also those in the community’s back yard.

Mango Tree often operates on the volunteer efforts of those in the community, so that profit raised from the sale of frozen yogurt treats can then be used to help those less fortunate in the community.

Brand said that he is challenging the non-profit recipients to “multiply this money just like the 5 loaves and 2 fish”, to go and serve others as well.

The non-profits receiving $1000.00 donations include; The Ecumenical Cupboard, Love Inc, New Hope, Mahaska County Habitat for Humanity, and Crisis Intervention Services.
