William Penn University hosted move-in days for several athletes over the last two weeks, and campus will officially be open for new and returning students to move in Friday, August 22 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Throughout the following week, many activities will be held all over campus to help both new and returning students prepare for the upcoming year and feel more at home.

The campus community is expecting another large freshman class this year. On Sunday, August 23, all new William Penn students are required to attend the Penn Pride Experience, which serves as an orientation. Part of the day will be aimed more at the students’ academic journeys and developing their own sense of William Penn Pride.

Classes begin on Monday, August 24. On Tuesday, students are invited to spend their lunch break in the Penn Activity Center (PAC) to visit the Community Fair, where they can learn more about what the City of Oskaloosa has to offer. A Hog Roast will be held in the evening at 6:00 pm outside the Union.

On Wednesday, August 26, water balloon fights and games will be held at 6:00 pm on the Union Lawn. On Thursday, the 27th, a Pep Rally and Ice Cream Social will be held from 7:00 to 8:00 pm on the Union Lawn. As students wrap up their first week of school on Friday, August 28, the Advancement Office will be hosting Bingo Night in the Cafeteria.

William Penn University’s Welcome Week is designed to help both new and returning students feel more at home during the first week of school. It also offers a way to meet new people, forming the bonds that shape one’s college experience. The faculty, staff and administration are happy to have students back on campus and look forward to another year of learning and growth.
