The Oskaloosa Indians softball team is ranked #1 in Iowa.

The Lady Indians Softball team held their Invitational at the Lacey Recreational Complex on Saturday June 19th, knocking out opponents Prairie City-Monroe and Carlisle. The 17-team round robin was played as well as a 9th grade 4-team tournament. The last games of the day were interrupted by lighting and canceled toward the end of the day but the two wins for the Lady Indians, currently ranked #1 in Class 4A, saw them maintain an udefeated record of 20-0 this season! Coached by Jay Harms, the two games were nail bitters with the first against PCM going to 8 innings and ending with a 1-0 victory . The second game against Carlisle, in third place and the team that eliminated Osky from the state tournament last year, had the Lady Indians coming from behind to end the game in a 5-3 win! “Man, did you see that game!” Man!” exclaimed one parent of a Lady Indians player immediately following the victory. Exciting day and great Invitational for the varsity softball team! For more pictures check MCRF’s facebook at https://www.facebook.com/mcrf.laceyrecreation
