OSKALOOSA, IA — Add adventure to your summer with the Daily Youth Theatre’s Explorers Club and 3 Musketeers camp June 15-19! Camp runs from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. with free lunches provided by the Summer Lunch Program. At the end of the week, campers will showcase what they learned and created throughout the week for family and friends.

For “Explorers Club” campers going into K-5, adventure waits around every corner! Each camper will create the tools they need to mount an expedition to last unknown corners of the globe.

The stage combat-based “3 Musketeers” camp for students going into grades 6-12 will recreate Alexandre Dumas’ classic The Three Musketeers with Jason Tipsword, the only Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD)-certified fight director in Iowa.

Stage combat will focus on fencing. Campers will use foam swords and learn safety techniques alongside stage combat. This will be the third year Tipsword has worked with the Daily Youth Theatre.

Starting on June 22, campers going into grades K-8 will take part in the age-old debate between pirates and ninjas in an epic improvised theatre piece from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. A more advanced acting challenge awaits campers going into grades 6-12 in “Actor’s Journey” which runs from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Camp may end at 3 p.m., but that doesn’t mean work does. For families who need extra time for pick-up, there’s now the Camp Out program that allows campers to stay as late as 5:00 p.m. for $5/hr. The summer is packed with themed camps so campers can go as many weeks as they like and have a different experience each time. Registrations are accepted up to, and on, the first day of camp.

Discounts are available for returning campers and families with multiple campers. Financial aid is also available and should be discussed on a case-by-case basis with the Education Director. Brochures and registrations are available at the George Daily Auditorium or online at www.georgedaily.org. For questions, contact Andy McGuire at (641) 672-3795 or youth@georgedaily.org.
