Oskaloosa, Iowa – The end of the school year means that, with the exception of softball and baseball, the 2014-15 season is nearly complete.

This year, the 2015 OHS Girls Track & Field Team consisted of 25 athletes that racked up 21 season best relay times, and 99 personal records.

The team was the meet champions at the Fairfield Relays and the Rocket Relays, hosted by Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.

The year saw 17 girls awarded their varsity letters. The numbers after their names indicated how many years they have lettered.

Bailey Blythe (3), Josie Bunnell (1), Julia Coniglio (1), Sienna DeJong (2), Brey Hill (3), Jamie Holmberg (1) Paige Howard (1), Asia Laudermilch (3), Marina Llanes (1), Aubrey Miller (2), Tori Palmer (3), Taylor Richardson (4), Cara Roquet (2), Maria Settimi (3), Shalandra Shilling (2), Leah VanMaanen (2), Alexis Westercamp (2)

11 girls were members of the Little Hawkeye Conference All­-Academic team. This is the most ever on the team. The numbers after their names indicated how many years they have earned that distinction.

The Student/Athlete must be a member of the Varsity Track & Field Team, maintain at least a 3.5 GPA, be a letter winner during the 2015 season, and be at least in 10th grade in order to be on the All­-Academic team.

Team Awards were given to the following deserving athletes:

Rookie of the Year ­- Paige Howard
Most Improved -­ Julia Coniglio & Marina Llanes
Team / 100% – ­Julia Coniglio
MVP – Asia Laudermilch & Brey Hill
Coaches Award ­- Taylor Richardson (This award is given to a senior who has played an instrumental part to the success of the team throughout her high school career.)
