Gordon C. Reynolds, 85, of Ollie, died Monday, May 18, 2015 at the Rosewood Care Center in Edwardsville, Illinois. He was born February 25, 1930 in Hedrick, the son of Leo and Mildred Keasling Reynolds.

Gordon graduated from Ollie High School with the class of 1947. On November 28, 1948, Gordon was united in marriage to Betty June Davis in the Methodist Church in Ollie.

Following marriage, Gordon and Betty bought a motor home and traveled throughout Iowa, Illinois and Nebraska while Gordon was working as a crane operator. They later moved back to Ollie and purchased a farm where they raised their family. Gordon retired in 1990, sold the farm and purchased a home in Florida where they lived until moving back to Ollie in 1994. Gordon moved to Edwardsville, Illinois in late 2014.

Gordon was a 50 year plus 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, a past Master of Justice Lodge #230 in Ollie, a Kabba Shriner, and a past patron of the Ollie Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #549. Gordon was also a 67 year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 234, and a board member for South Oak Housing and Fremont Funeral Chapel.

Gordon had a great love for flying. He earned his Private Pilot’s License in 1958 and owned 2 Piper aircraft in the 1970’s. Later he enjoyed radio controlled airplanes and was a member of the Ottumwa Radio Controlled Flyers for several years.

Gordon is survived by his two daughters: Pam Reynolds of Ottumwa and Lisa (& Steve) Roberts of Richland; a son, Dennis (& Kelly) Reynolds of Maryville, Illinois; three grandchildren: Bart J. (& Teresa) Reynolds of Maryville, IL, Barry Reynolds of Newton, IA and Tyler (& Stefanie) Roberts of Klamath Falls, OR; three great grandchildren: Jesianne, Delrae, and Porter Reynolds; a brother, Larry (& Verneen) Reynolds of Visilica, California; and a sister, ClemmaGene Sloan of Moline, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty June Davis; his parents; and a brother, Cloyce Reynolds.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 30, 2015, at the Fremont Funeral Chapel in Fremont at 10 A.M. with Reverend Frosty Van Voorst officiating.
Burial of the cremated remains will be in the Ollie Cemetery.
