Oskaloosa–Maggie Yang (Sr., Chino, Calif., Biology) concluded undeniably the best career in William Penn women’s golf history as the NAIA Women’s Golf All-America Teams were announced Monday.

Yang was named to the Honorable Mention squad as a total of 45 players were honored (15 each on the first, second, and honorable-mention groups). It is the second All-America accolade earned by the program as Demi Coertze (Jr., Johannesburg, South Africa, Digital Communication) was a Third-Team pick last year.

“I am happy to end my last season on a successful note,” Yang said. “We have been working hard all year and it has paid off. I am very proud of all the girls and we could not have done this without the support from our coaching staff, family, and friends. The program has come a long way and I am looking forward to what the future has in store for us!”

The Midwest Collegiate Conference’s Player of the Year, the senior guided the Statesmen to their second-straight league title as well as second-consecutive NAIA National Championships appearance.

Yang was not only her team’s best player at a 77.6 stroke average, but also the most consistent; she posted 19 rounds (out of 25) in the 70s (low of 71). The senior tallied three tournament titles, had a total of 10 top-10 finishes, and tied for 33rd at NAIA Nationals.

“Maggie had a phenomenal career here at William Penn,” Head Coach Nik Rule said. “I cannot think of a better way for it to end than being recognized as one of the best players in the country; it is well deserved. She took a chance four years ago and we shared a dream of making this program one of the best in the country. Today, that dream has become a reality and she deserves some of the credit for that. She will forever be a Statesmen.”

Brandon Miller, Head Coach of national champion Northwood (Fla.), was named NAIA Coach of the Year.
