Mahaska County Agency on Aging First Annual Floyd White Memorial Golf Tournament

The Mahaska County Agency on Aging (MCAA) is sponsoring the First Annual Floyd White Memorial Golf tournament on May 30 in honor of the late Floyd White, who was an avid golfer. His wife, Margaret, served on the MCAA board for 28 years as the treasurer.

Scheduled for Saturday, May 30, 2015, at the Edmundson Golf Course, the tournament will be a 4-Person Best Position format, with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The entry fee is $50 per person, and registration is limited to 34 teams of four players. All proceeds from the tournament will go to the MCAA to continue its mission to serve senior citizens.

Several businesses have graciously offered to sponsor and donate prizes for the golf tournament. Current sponsors include Ameriprize, Loretta McCormick, Mahaska Drug, Mary Lubas, MUSCO, Oskaloosa Vision Center, Carolyn Koch and daughters, and QQGIS. Businesses making prize donations to date include Arnold Motor Supply, Book Vault, Klyn Tire, Malcolm Lumber, Harbour Hair, Sherwin Williams, Swim’s, McDonalds, Pizza Ranch, and Family Video.

To register for the Floyd White Memorial Golf Tournament, contact Matt Sherlock at 641.673.5120. If you have any questions about the event or how you can become a sponsor or donate a prize, contact MCAA Interns Ashley Grubb at 641.670.0484 or Kate Van Gilst at 641.569.3231. Grubb’s and Van Gilst’s internships are made possible, in part, by a grant from the Mahaska County Community Foundation.

The MCAA operates and maintains the Senior Center, located at 715 B Avenue East in Oskaloosa. The Center provides both home-delivered meals and congregate meals at the site, supporting the county’s senior population as residents age in place.
