Desmond Atreyu Downey-Steele, one month old son of Vhon Steele, Jr. and Mary Downey, died Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the family’s home in Oskaloosa.
Though his life was short, he was loved by many and touched lots of lives.
His family includes: his parents, Vhon Steele and Mary Downey of Oskaloosa; his paternal grandparents, Vhon Steele, Sr. and Brenda Steele of Oskaloosa; maternal grandparents, Karen Downey and Wade Piersel of Oskaloosa; paternal great grandmother, Becky Rollins of Oskaloosa; maternal great grandparents, Bettie Downey of Oskaloosa, and Betty and LaVerne Piersel of Oskaloosa; close family friends, Lyle and Myrna Panno of Oskaloosa; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his great grandparents.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Bates Funeral Chapel.
Visitation will be at the Bates Funeral Chapel with the family present at the funeral chapel from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday to greet friends and relatives.
