Oskaloosa–The William Penn women’s track and field team put together a load of great performances as it hosted the Statesmen Relays Saturday.

Of the 17 contested events, a member of the Statesmen squad topped the field 10 times.

Meaghan Foster (Jr., Centerville, Iowa, Physical Education) was a two-time champion, winning the shot put at 41-3.25 and the hammer at 127-9.

Courtney Dalton (Fr., Posen, Ill., Biology) was also first twice, winning the 200-meter dash in 26.89 seconds and leading the 100 prelims in 12.86 seconds (results from the 100 finals are not available at this time).

Other running titles went to Tarah Alexander (Jr., Cedar, Iowa, Physical Education) (1:03.01 in the 400-meter dash), Addison Kepner (Jr., Cincinnati, Iowa, Biology) (2:31.69 in the 800-meter run), and Cassandra Kingery (So., Winfield, Iowa, Communications) (16.21 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles).

The 4×100 (51.81 seconds) and 4×400-meter relay squads (4:34.22) were also victorious.

Alyssa Phillips (So., Gurnee, Ill., Communications) and Alora Simmons (Jr., Newton, Iowa, Elementary Education) tied for the high jump title at 4-9, while Whitley Schertz (Sr., Eddyville, Iowa, Exercise Science) was best in the pole vault at 8-0.5. Emma Hoerr (Jr., Chillicothe, Ill., Physical Education) took the discus crown at 126-9.

Next Up: William Penn travels to Indianola next Friday and Saturday to compete in the Simpson Kip Janvrin Open.
