Danny M. Paxton, 55, of Fremont died Monday, April 6, 2015, at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Danny M. Paxton, the son of Merle and Geneva Van Orsdall Paxtonwas, born May 27, 1959, in Iowa City.

Danny graduated from Eddyville High School with the class of 1979. Early on he helped his brother Dave at Fremont Schools. He later went to work at Tenco, C.O.C., and Paslode. He retired in 2001 and helped take care of his mother.

He loved television, sports, reading, music and trivia. Danny was very good with statistics, he could remember dates and facts with great detail. Danny always wanted to know the schedule for his family’s little league and traveling teams, as he was sure to be in the stands cheering. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.

He is survived by his five brothers: Terry (& Nancy) Paxton of Oskaloosa, Richard Paxton of Oskaloosa, Dennis Paxton of Fremont, Rodney Paxton of Muscatine, and Norman Paxton of Muscatine; a sister, Debra Paxton of Fremont; nieces and nephews: Penny (& Brian) Lingle, Bridgette (& Christian) Schilling, Jayme Paxton, Jennifer Paxton, Lucinda (& Norman) Blad, Jeff (& Stacy) Paxton and Ron (& Angie) Paxton; and many great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle Paxton and Geneva Kaufman; three brothers: Larry, David and Robert Paxton; and a sister, Shirley Paxton.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 10, 2015 at 2 P.M. in the Fremont Funeral Chapel in Fremont with Pastor Mark Doland officiating.
Burial will be in the Van Orsdall Cemetery in rural Keokuk County.
Visitation will begin Thursday morning after 11 in the Fremont Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 5-7 Thursday evening to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to The Danny Paxton Memorial Fund.
