Partners Work Together to Prepare for Soccer Season at Lacey Recreation Complex Stadium
Several entities worked together to insure that the Lacey Recreation Complex soccer field was ready to launch on Monday. The High School girls stepped out onto a beautiful new grass field ready to play a game of soccer on Monday evening but behind the scenes began several days previous. Volunteer partners from William Penn University, the Oskaloosa High School and MCRF worked several days before opening to clean wind blown debris from the fence, mark the field lines with paint, mow, maintain and put together goals for the game. The High School girls played on Monday and Tuesday to a one-one win-loss record so far this season. The High School Soccer boys and girls teams will play all home games on the new field this season. ” I really like the new field!” stated one player after the game. “First, I like playing on grass better than artificial turf and second, it’s a nice field! Better than the ones we’ve played on before!” For a game schedule for the Lacey Recreation Complex in its entirety, go to MCRF’s website at mcrf.info.
