OSKALOOSA, IA — Three art galleries in Oskaloosa will be open and welcoming guests on Thursday, April 9, says FACE president Briana Bartlett.

“The gallery hop is part of our Arts in April initiative,” says Bartlett. “We’re trying to let people know about all of the really great arts and culture events happening here. The entire month is full of events, so the gallery hop is just one way to get involved.”

The gallery hop, meant to show the many locations around Oskaloosa that showcase public art, begins at 5 p.m. at the George Daily Auditorium. Art by Nancy O’Brien and Oskaloosa High School students will be displayed in the lobby until 6:30 p.m.

The Foyer Gallery in William Penn University’s Wilcox Library will showcase the work of William Penn University students from 5 – 7 p.m.

Finish up the evening at the Oskaloosa Art Center featuring a variety of local artists from 5 – 8 p.m.

The musical duo Sever will provide live music at the Art Center from 7 – 8 p.m., singing contemporary American and international pop and folk songs. All locations will have FACE members as hosts and plenty of refreshments and snacks.

“Anyone is invited to drop in during any of the open times at any number of the galleries to see the kind of talent we have right here in our own community,” says Bartlett.
