Oskaloosa–Three William Penn senior football players will hope to impress pro scouts in a few weeks as they participate in the inaugural Globe Bowl next month.

Defensive backs Deshon Conley (Sr., Chicago, Ill., Physical Education) and Joseph Frye (Sr., Detroit, Mich., Physical Education) and fullback Michael Thomas (Sr., Visalia, Calif.) will all take part in the event that will allow leagues outside of the NFL to view All-America and all-conference talent from the NCAA Division FCS ranks through to the NAIA.

The weekend will begin on Friday, April 10 as the National Pro Day Scouting Combine will be held at Game Time Field House-Velocity in Breinigsville, Pa. The fifth-annual combine has confirmed attendees from the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes as well as several Arena teams.

The actual game will be played on Sunday, April 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Salisbury High School Football Stadium in Allentown, Pa. Again, at least six teams have confirmed that they will have scouts at the game.

Conley was a second-team all-Midwest League pick last fall, tallying 43 tackles with four interceptions, eight pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries. Frye, who was an honorable mention in 2011, managed 37 tackles and two sacks as a senior in addition to one interception, three pass breakups, and one fumble recovery. Thomas snatched first-team laurels this year, rushing for 724 yards and eight touchdowns. He also caught two passes out of the backfield.
