Joan “Joannie” Mullins, 58, of University Park, died Monday, March 23, 2015 at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. She was born Monday, April 2, 1956 in Fridley, Minnesota, the daughter of Donald and Alvina Croll Anderson.

Joannie graduated from the Cassen-Mantorville High School with the class of 1974. On June 16, 1996, Joannie was united in marriage to David Mullins at Lake Keomah.

Joannie attended the First Assembly of God in Oskaloosa. She enjoyed drawing, painting, fishing, plants and flowers and playing video games with her grandchildren.

Her family includes her husband, David Mullins of University Park; three daughters: Nancy (& Brian) Paul of Indianapolis, Indiana, Mandy (& Mike) Sample of Knoxville, Iowa and Katie Marshall of Pillager, Minnesota; a step daughter, Racheal Seibert of Coralville, Iowa; a step son, Luke (& Crystal) Mullins of Rose Hill; 14 grandchildren: Mike, Noah, Dylan, Nathan, Cadman, Caleb, Kara, Sari, Ariel, Elle, Abby, Suzanna, Ella and Cheyenne; two brothers: Joel Anderson of Hibbing, Minnesota and Jim (& Cha) Anderson of Washington State; two sisters: Joy (& Doyle) Gould of Grand Rapids, Minnesota and Jan Shields of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Heather Schmoll; a sister, Jean McClure; and a brother, Jay Anderson.

As was her wish, Joannie’s body has been cremated. Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
No visitation is planned at this time.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 11 A.M. at the First Assembly of God Church in Oskaloosa with Reverend Michael Dotson officiating.
Joan’s family asks that memorials may be made to the Joan Mullins Memorial Fund in lieu of flowers.
