Digital Communication Program at William Penn to Hold Visit Day

William Penn University

In contrast to previous years, William Penn University will be holding a second Digital Communication Visit Day on March 26. The Musco Technology Center (MTC) will see high school students from all over Iowa gaining hands-on experience in the digital communication field. Workshops will cover video production, radio, and social media. The day will also include lunch and refreshments.

The department’s first visit day, held earlier this year, was a huge success and exceeded capacity. This event will accommodate schools that expressed interest during the first visit that were unable to attend. With the ever-changing effects of media, interest in Digital Communication has risen steadily over the past few years. Teachers and students have shown similar interests in learning the necessary skills required to pursue careers in different fields of communication. Eduardo Zamarripa, producer at the Communication Research Institute at William Penn, believes that the experience is immeasurable, saying, ”The only way to learn in this industry is by doing it, and that is the motto we use in the DigiComm Program: ‘Know it. Do it.’”

The goal is to create awareness about this program, not only in the community, but around the world. The work produced by students at William Penn University is of the highest standard and aims to inspire future students to embrace the changes across all media platforms.
