Mary Byrne, 81, of What Cheer Died Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the Serenity House in Oskaloosa. Mary Margaret Byrne was born on March 11, 1932 in What Cheer, Iowa the daughter of Carl and Edna Dollar Fabritz.

After graduating from What Cheer High School, Mary later attended Mary Crest College in Des Moines. Mary was then united in marriage to Daniel Byrne on December 27, 1953. To this union five children were born.

Mary was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Oskaloosa. She enjoyed attending Bible study, reading, gardening, poetry, theology, art, painting, music and playing the piano.

Mary is survived by three sons: Dan (& Dawn Martinez) Byrne of Quartz Hill, CA, Tom Byrne of Buena Park, CA, Matthew Byrne of Corona, CA; two daughters: Susan (& Michael) Walker and Cathy Daliposan, both of What Cheer. She also leaves behind three grandchildren: Lyanna Templeton, Anastasia Byrne and Kenneth Daliposan; as well as three great grandchildren: Camill Templeton, Liam Graves and Nora Keen.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Daniel.

A memorial  mass will be held at 10:00 on Friday, March 13, 2015 at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Oskaloosa.
Visitation will be held at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in What Cheer Thursday evening from 5:00 to7:00 pm.
Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery at What Cheer.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary Catholic Church in Oskaloosa.
