Schwab Nets One Final Weekly Honor

Schwab, highlighted by a 42-point showing against St. Thomas, averaged 30.3 points and 6.3 rebounds.  He also had nine steals and two assists and shot 46% from the field (42% 3-PT).

Oskaloosa–Alec Schwab (Sr., Peru, Ill., Business Management) capped a tremendous senior season and career with a big finish and he was recognized for it by being named the Midwest Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday.

Schwab picked up his first laurel of the year (third of his career) by averaging 25.3 points in three MCC Tournament games. The senior scored at least 23 points in all three outings, highlighted by 27 (also had nine rebounds) against AIB in the semifinals. He shot 41.2% from behind the arc and 78.3% at the line.

For the year, Schwab averaged 22.4 points and 5.8 rebounds and also posted 53 steals, 45 assists, and three blocks. He shot 42.6% overall (34.2% 3-PT) and 81.7% from deep. The senior had five double-doubles and eclipsed double figures in all 32 games this campaign.

The award is the third of the year for WPU.
