Donna Jean Evans, 83, of Eldon passed away Friday, February 27, 2015 at the Sigourney Care Center in Sigourney. She was born Wednesday, August 5, 1931 in Ottumwa, the daughter of Bert and Olive Rowell McDaniel.

Donna attended school in Bloomfield, Iowa. on September 3, 1950, Donna was united in marriage to Ernest Evans at the Baptist Temple in Ottumwa.

Donna was a homemaker and helped Ernest on the farm. She enjoyed cooking, baking, collecting dishes and reading. Donna will be remembered as a loving, caring, giving mother that will be greatly missed by her family.

Donna is survived by her husband of over 64 years, Ernest Evans of Eldon; a daughter, Carol (& Jim) Rose of Hedrick; a son, Kent (& Kay) Evans of Richland; 7 step grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Bottger of Hedrick; two brothers: Gary McDaniel of Hedrick, and Ivan (& Judy) McDaniel of Bloomfield; and her dog, Buddy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Gerald McDaniel.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 10 A.M. in the Fremont Funeral Chapel in Fremont with Reverend Bill Hornback officiating.
Burial will be in Competine Cemetery east of Farson, Iowa.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, March 3, 2015 after 12 noon in the Fremont Funeral Chapel and the family will be present at the funeral chapel Tuesday from 5 – 7 P.M. to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to the Heartland Humane Society in Ottumwa,Iowa.
