GRINNELL’S JACK TAYLOR NAMED MWC MEN’S BASKETBALL PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College’s Jack Taylor ’15 has been named the Midwest Conference Men’s Basketball Performer of the Week for the fifth time in his career.
Taylor ’15, a 5-10, 165-pound guard from Black River Falls, Wis. (Black River Falls), had a huge week for the Pioneers as they extended their winning streak to five games. He averaged 34.5 points per game to help Grinnell slide into second place in the MWC standings.
He had a game-high 27 points and a pair of steals as Grinnell rolled by Monmouth College 108-82 to avenge an earlier loss to the Fighting Scots. Taylor followed that up with a sizzling shooting performance, scoring a game-high 42 points in a 116-87 win over Carroll University. Taylor hit 12-of-16 shots, including a 10-of-13 performance from 3-point land, and also dished out two assists.
The nation’s leading scorer, the second consecutive player from Grinnell to be named MWC Performer of the Week, is averaging 29.6 points per game.
