La Crosse, Wis.–Three players scored at least 20 points as the Statesmen women’s basketball team went wire-to-wire over Viterbo 83-58 in Midwest Collegiate Conference action Saturday.

With its top four scorers all shooting at least 50% from the floor, William Penn (10-13, 3-4 MCC) had an easy time of things, eventually finishing with a 49.2%-34.4% shooting edge.

The visitors scored 17 of the game’s first 21 points and led by as much as 28 points Saturday. Viterbo (6-19, 2-5 MCC) committed 17 turnovers, which WPU converted into 19 points. William Penn also secured a 41-34 rebounding edge, leading to an 18-13 mark in second-chance points.

Katie Golomski (Sr., Milwaukee, Wis., Psychology & Sociology) nailed seven three-pointers on her way to a team-best 23 points. She dished out four assists as well and was one rebound shy of a double-double.

Alyssa Phillips (So., Gurnee, Ill., Communications) was the most efficient participant with 21 points on 9-for-11 shooting, while Jessie Kreuser (Sr., Mendota Heights, Minn., Physical Education) tallied her sixth double-double of the season with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Kau’ilani Miki-Han (Fr., Irvine, Calif., Digital Communication) added 11 points off the bench.

“This was a great team win,” Head Coach Mike Brown said. “We really played well together and shared the ball. We were composed on the defensive end as well.”

“Our post players handled their opponents and Katie and Kau’ilani were hot all night,” Brown added. “Kadejah Young was also great running the show at the point.”

Next Up: William Penn returns to Oskaloosa next Wednesday to host Grand View in MCC play at 5:30 p.m.
