Lady Statesmen Take the Turf

William Penn Softball gets some time on the turf, enjoying the spring like weather in January.

Spring has not sprung, but that is not keeping the William Penn University students contained to indoor facilities. The softball team visited the stadium at the Lacey Recreation Complex twice this past week prepared with layers of clothing, but after a few minutes of warm up exercises the team was already starting to take off layers to enjoy the sunshine. Coach Mike Christner shouted out words of encouragement across the turf as they worked on essential skills for the season. The lady statesmen will be at the Lacey Recreation Complex the weekend of March 20th to host a tournament at the 5-plex facility.
