Pella–The William Penn wrestling team was nearly shut out in a 47-6 loss to Central in dual meet action Thursday.

Scottie Bonds (So., Chicago, Ill., Physical Education) was the only navy and gold victor on an evening in which WPU (2-4) was in a 12-point hole from the beginning with forfeits at 133 and 184 pounds.

Bonds pinned Jahleel Vester at 133 pounds in a time of 4:47. The sophomore is now 18-2 with 13 falls. Central improved to 7-3 on the season.

Next Up: William Penn travels to Des Moines Saturday to compete in the Grand View Open. Action begins at 9 a.m.
