Oskaloosa–Janay Pritchett (Sr., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Biology & Sociology) used a career high to break into a prestigious club over the weekend and her efforts earned her Midwest Collegiate Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors Monday.

Pritchett, a two-time honoree this year (three in her career), joined the 1,000-Point Club on Saturday with her career-high 34-point showing against St. Ambrose. She is the 21st player in program history to accomplish the career scoring feat.

The senior averaged 24.5 points last week in addition to five rebounds, five assists, and five steals. She shot 53.1% overall, including a 54.5% clip from behind the arc.

For the year, Pritchett is averaging a team-best 17.0 points per game in addition to 3.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.1 steals. She is hitting 39.9% of her field goals (40.4% 3-PT) and is 79.2% from the charity stripe. The guard has reached double figures 18 times and has one double-double to her credit.

It is the program’s second weekly laurel of the year.
