BECOME LEGENDARY WITH THE DAILY YOUTH THEATRE

OSKALOOSA, IA — Every person can become legendary, according to Youth Theatre Director Andy McGuire, which is the theme of the new after school theatre camp at the George Daily Auditorium. The 4-week long program starts Monday, January 26th and focuses on building characters with costumes and props and crafting stories about how those characters became legendary.

“We’re trying a new format this semester,” said McGuire. “We’ve split the campers into three groups instead of two to better serve the developmental needs of our students.”

Different groups will meet at different times throughout the week. Mondays & Tuesdays are the Stage Apprentices group, 3-5th graders who meet from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. Kindergarteners through 2nd grade will meet every Wednesday for Stage Playground from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. and 6-8th graders will meet Thursdays & Fridays for Stage Performers. All groups will work under the Legendary theme and all will perform in a free public showcase on Friday, February 20th.

“Every camper should wear shoes that enclose the toe and heel, like tennis shoes,” added McGuire. Snacks and a water bottle are also recommended.

Registration and payment will be accepted until the first day of camp. If you would like to discuss need-based financial aid or alternate payment plans, those options are available. Please contact the Youth Director, Andy McGuire, at 641-672-3795 or youth@georgedaily.org. Registration forms can be picked up at the George Daily Auditorium office, in Oskaloosa’s schools, or online at www.georgedaily.org under the After School Program tab.
