The Mahaska County YMCA Dolphins hosted their first swim meet of the season on January 17th against Marshalltown, Centerville, and Des Moines. Riverfront YMCA’s and it was a great meet by the host team. The Dolphins came away with 85 top 3 finishes and 79 personal best times as this Dolphin team took full advantage of swimming at their own pool. Many of the offsite parents commented on how well the meet was ran as the YMCA staff and all of the parents that volunteered did a great job at providing a smooth flowing event. The team seemed to be full of life and had a lot of fun hosting their first swim meet of the season and they are looking forward to next week when they get to host their second home swim meet and are bringing in Keokuk, Indianola, Washington, and Ft. Madison to compete against. It will be a full house of kids with a lot of tough competition so come on out and watch the Dolphins as they will be ready to compete next Saturday.
