Peggy Husband, 90, of Oskaloosa passed away Thursday afternoon, January 15, 2015, at Crystal Heights Care Center in Oskaloosa.

Lenore “Peggy” Irene Husband, daughter of Eugene and Mae De Witt Welch, was born December 31, 1924 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She attended Oskaloosa schools. Peggy married Wilbur R. Breuklander, July 5, 1942. Wilbur died, April 28, 1970. She married Dale Husband, December 1973, he died in 1992.

Peggy worked at Oskaloosa Produce for over 20 years and then worked at Pella Corporation for over 10 years, retiring in 1985.

Peggy was a member of the Gateway Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Peggy’s family includes a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Alfred Booy of Oskaloosa; five grandchildren: Brian (& Glenda) Booy of Oskaloosa; Kevin (& Crystal) Booy of Oskaloosa; Melanie Mason of Oskaloosa; Lori (& James) Renfro of Valdosta, GA; and Lisa Breuklander of Oskaloosa; eight great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; one brother, Rex Welch of Oskaloosa; and a sister, Betty “Vera” Mealey of Butte, MT.

Besides her parents and her two husbands, Peggy was preceded in death by a son, David Breuklander; and ten brothers: Bob, Raymond, Albert, Ira, Frank and Roy Shafer and Jim, Max, Bill and Jack Welch.

A memorial graveside service will be held for Peggy at 10 a.m., Saturday morning, January 17, 2015, at Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa with Pastors Dave Childers and Alvern Boetsma officiating.
Family and friends may gather at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel on Saturday by 9:45 a.m. to form a procession to the cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Crystal Heights Care Center Activity Fund.
