Oskaloosa–William Penn will continue to seek improvement in women’s track and field as the Midwest Collegiate Conference’s preseason coaches’ poll was released Friday.

The Statesmen notched ten points to sit in fifth place out of six programs.

Two-time defending indoor and outdoor champion St. Ambrose was nearly unanimous in first place with 33 points and five first-place votes. Grand View was close behind with 30 points, despite not having a single first-place nod.

The final first-place tally went to Mount Mercy, which is third with 23 points. Clarke, with 21 points, and Viterbo, with nine, concluded the poll.

William Penn continues its indoor season today at the Dubuque Sol Butler Classic.
