Bosek, Adams Win December Awards

Oskaloosa–The William Penn University Athletics Booster Club has announced the recipients of December’s Player of the Month awards.

Junior men’s basketball player Shane Bosek (Lowry, Minn., Physical Education) won the Male award, while sophomore women’s bowler Stephanie Adams (Souris, Manitoba, Business Management) took the Female honor. The award is the first for both student-athletes.

Bosek had a record-setting December, averaging 24.0 points and 8.3 rebounds, highlighted by a single-game record of 52 points against Grinnell on December 9. Against Grinnell, he was 25-for-27 from the floor. He shot 73% overall (35% 3-PT) and 73% from the free-throw line. The junior reached double figures three times with two double-doubles.

Adams knocked down a plethora of pins in December, averaging 203.8 in three events (18 games). She paced WPU in scoring twice, posting a pair of top-20 efforts (one top ten). The sophomore managed six 200-pin games, including a high of 269.
